The IBM DB2 ROI tool has been designed for developers, database administrators and senior IT management personnel alike, to help them perform a clinical analysis of the cost savings gained from the Storage Optimization feature of DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows. The feature, also known as Deep Compression, compresses data that lies within a database using a dictionary, reducing the size of the database by up to 40-50%.
